Invitation to Participate in Global Biobank Awareness Week Videos

The GBA Task Force invites biobankers from around the world to create short videos, between 15 and 20 seconds, that will contribute to the lead-up for Global Biobank Awareness Week in 2026. This initiative aims to showcase the diversity and unity within the global biobanking community. Cassandra Griffin and Deb Garcia, who are heading this project, are eager to receive your submissions and celebrate the unique contributions of biobankers everywhere.

Recording Script

To take part, simply grab your phone, switch to selfie mode and record a short video lasting between 15 and 20 seconds. Your video is a fantastic opportunity to introduce yourself and highlight your role in the biobanking community. If you need a bit of inspiration, here are a couple of prompts you might like to use:

"I'm (insert name) and I'm a biobanker located in (insert home location) who biobanks (insert biospecimen type).”

"Hello, my name is [Name] from [Institution]. I believe biobanking is the key to the future because..."
Example: I'm Sarah Brown and I'm a biobanker located in Sydney where I biobank marine species.

"I'm (insert name) and I'm a (insert profession) who works with biobanks to (insert role).”
Example: I'm Lorenzo Llamas and I'm a lawyer who works in Brazil with biobanks to ensure equitable access to research samples.
